Councillor Esber was elected to the City of Parramatta Council in September 2017, and elected Lord Mayor in September 2023. Lord Mayor Esber, who represents the Dundas Ward, has been helping shape Parramatta as a councillor for more than 20 years. This includes serving on the former Parramatta City Council from 1999 to 2016, including as Deputy Lord Mayor from September 2001 to September 2022.

Councillor Esber is focused on leading the City as it embarks on the next chapter of its transformation. Having lived in Parramatta all his life, Cr Esber is committed to continuing to make it the best place to live and raise a family, to work and build a business and a magnet for our smartest minds, most brilliant creatives and promising talent.

With a background in small business, Cr Esber wants to ensure the benefits of Parramatta’s economic transformation are shared by all, so local communities get the highest quality services and community infrastructure in their suburbs and neighbourhoods.
